VirtualDub v1.9.7 is a video capture / processing utility for 32-bit Windows platforms, licensed under the GNU General Public License (GPL). It lacks the editing power of a general-purpose editor such as Adobe Premiere, but is streamlined for fast linear operations over video.

Free VirtualDub v1.9.7 has batch-processing capabilities for processing large numbers of files and can be extended with third-party video filters. It is mainly geared toward processing AVI files, although it can read MPEG-1 and also handle sets of BMP images.

Requirements: Microsoft Windows 98, ME, NT4, 2000, XP, Vista, Server, or newer; 80486 or higher CPU; 16MB of memory. This version will run on both x86 (32-bit) and x64 (64-bit) versions of Windows. Sorry, but there is no native version for Mac OS X or Linux.
